Every other year, the Lake Forest Auxiliary chapter of the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago selects top interior and landscape designers to showcase their creative new spaces and raise money. Schmechtig Landscapes has once again been asked to support the organization by creating and installing the West Bluestone Terrace outdoor space for this year’s Lake Forest Showhouse and Gardens.
The 2015 Lake Forest Showhouse and Garden historic site is the impressive mansion of screenwriter, director and producer, John W. Hughes, Jr. Some of his film credits include Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, The Breakfast Club, Home Alone, Home Alone 2 and more. Nancy Hughes, widow of John W. Hughes, Jr. donated the property to Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital. The home will be available for sale after the showhouse with proceeds going to construct a new hospital.
Schmechtig Landscapes is proud of their participation in supporting the Lake Forest Auxiliary chapter of the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago which is dedicated to provide quality, community based healthcare to under and uninsured, underserved children and women who would otherwise lack access to basic medical services.
