Designs For Dignity is an organization Schmechtig Landscapes supports. Last year this organization served 30,000 individuals! Michael Schmechtig is a board member and heads the garden initiative and Toni Callahan is a Spirit of Design event committee member.  We invite you to join us May 9th to support this organization. (https://designs4dignity.ticketbud.com/spiritofdesign) Designs for Dignity is an organization founded on the belief that every individual should have access to environments that support the wellness of the human spirit. Design is a transformational force in human life. Our physical surroundings directly impact how we feel, react, aspire, and engage. Spaces of hope, dignity, and comfort are foundations for nurturing the growth and success of every human being. Limited resources often prevent nonprofits from creating environments that preserve dignity for the people they serve. HOW D4D DOES IT – We harness the combined power of pro bono interior and landscape design, construction talent and donated materials to breathe new life into existing nonprofit spaces giving them the platform from which they can better serve individuals in their focus mission. We collaboratively design human-centric spaces rooted in the needs of each organization. In 2000, D4D’s work started with one woman, one vision, and one project. Since then, we have renovated and restored the environments of over a hundred community programs and nonprofit organizations across the Midwest. We have made a substantial contribution to these organizations and programs to help them better serve their constituents.  Last year 30,000 individuals served!
